Mariners bust it open on Yankees pen

The Seattle Mariners are on the verge of snapping theit 17-game losing streak, scoring five runs in the seventh inning off Cory Wade, Boone Logan and Luis Ayala to take a 7-1 lead. The big hit was a bases-loaded triple by Mike Carp off of Logan, a drive to dead center that Curtis Granderson never seem to draw a bead on. The ball glanced off his glove a step in front of the wall, clearing the bases and sending Logan to the dugout amid a chorus of boos. Four of the five runs are unearned due to an error by Robinson Cano but all three pitchers still got hit hard. King Felix Hernandez, the defending AL Cy Young Award winner, still pitching for Seattle, only now with a comfortable six-run lead.
