Wallace Matthews has the story on Jesus Montero getting called-up. I doubt they are bringing him up just to sit. I would not be surprised if he started on Thursday against lefty Jon Lester.
"As of late, he has swung the bat very well," Joe Girardi said. "You look at his second half numbers and he has swung the bat very well."
Girardi sounds as if he will just DH him and then might get Montero's feet wet on defense. Girardi basically said he won't start Montero at catcher.
In August, Montero has eight homers and 19 RBIs in 24 games.
