One day after giving up the go-ahead home run against the Red Sox, Yankees lefty reliever Boone Logan rebounded Thursday to get a big strikeout in the Yankees' win Thursday against the Red Sox.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Friday that he thinks that Logan's confidence has grown in his time with the Yankees and he's shown the ability to bounce back from rough outings, like the one he had Wednesday.

"He got on a roll for us last year and was very good and he got off to a slow start this year and I think he was searching a little bit," Girardi said. "I think sometimes when guys get on a roll and then they struggle they think, I thought I had it, and that's the danger of it but he's been really good for us and I think he's bounced back well, he's had big strikeouts for us in tough situations for us and he's been really good."

Girardi said that a mechanical adjustment that Logan made where he drops his arm a little bit as helped him this season. He also added that it's "huge" that he can trust Logan in big spots against a team like Boston as the Red Sox are so lefty oriented in their lineup and there are times that he can end up facing four to five hitters in an outing. Logan gave up one run in his three appearances against the Red Sox in the three-game set.

Logan is 4-2 with a 2.78 ERA on the year.
