A recurring feature of the blog, Buzz, will follow Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances, as well as other top Yankee prospects, all season long.
The Yankees had their first round of cuts and Manny Banuelos was one of them. There is definitely a message in that as Dellin Betances, Adam Warren, David Phelps and D.J. Mitchell were all asked to stick around. Banuelos was told to take his stuff over to minor league camp.
Banuelos gave up four earned runs in five innings in major league camp. Joe Girardi pointed out the other day that Banuelos could not control his pitches well enough against Toronto in Dunedin. Mitchell, who could make the club as a long man, threw three perfect innings. Banuelos just turned 21.
