Yankees vs. Blue Jays -- Swisher sits

The Yankees are back in action after a day off on Monday, facing the Toronto Blue Jays tonight at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m., and you can watch the game on YES.

Originally we thought Nick Swisher would be back in the lineup tonight, after missing a week with a sore groin. But Joe Girardi is being cautious and holding him out.

"Just by talking, my sense was, I didn’t get the feel that he was completely ready to go," Girardi said. "So we had him take some at-bats today. If he wakes up and feels fine tomorrow, we’re gonna probably have him take some at-bats in a minor league game tomorrow."

(Swisher's at-bats today came against Andy Pettitte -- more on that in the blog shortly.)

When asked if he is worried about Swisher being ready for Opening Day, Girardi said, "A little bit. But my sense is that he’ll be ready."

Here is tonight's lineup:

Derek Jeter SS

Curtis Granderson CF

Robinson Cano 2B

Alex Rodriguez 3B

Mark Teixeira 1B

Russell Martin C

Raul Ibanez DH

Andruw Jones RF

Brett Gardner LF

CC Sabathia P
