The Nightly Nun-E: He is on the board

The Nightly Nun-E is a new feature of the blog in which we will track the progress of Eduardo Nuñez, the defensively challenged former Yankeess utility infielder who is now the everyday shortstop for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

Eduardo Nuñez is at it again. Mr. Excitement -- with an emphasis on the E -- committed two errors at short for Triple-A Scranton in their morning game with Toledo. Both came in the fourth inning.

Nuñez had been error-free in his first two Triple-A games.

On Twiitter, Donnie Collins, the Triple-A beat writer for the Scranton-Times Tribune, described the errors this way:

"Nunez boots an easy three-hopper from Ciriaco. Ball came up on him, but still. Just didn't keep his eye on it all the way."

Nunez is killing DJ Mitchell. They had Ciriaco caught stealing second easily. Nunez flat missed the throw. Ciriaco now on third.

Ray Kruml is pinch hitting for Eduardo Nunez in the 8th. I am not sure why this would happen.

In all seriousness, the guy's confidence may be shot. He is a nice, talented guy so, hopefully for his sake, it comes back. By the way, Nunez had a single in four at-bats. The Daily Cervelli did not play.
