TAMPA, Fla. -- Yankees GM Brian Cashman lost Nick Swisher, Russell Martin and Raul Ibanez to free-agency in the offseason, Alex Rodriguez to hip surgery, and last week, Curtis Granderson to a broken arm. His attempt to avoid having to to bid on Robinson Cano's services so far appears to be going nowhere. His team has lost six of its first seven preseason games, and is trailing 6-1, to the Phillies today.
So what is any self-respecting general manager to do? Why, jump out of a plane, of course. With a parachute, fortunately.
In the latest of his series of daredevil stunts, Cashman will participate in a tandem jump with the U.S. Army Golden Knights on Monday, March 4, at the Homestead Air Reserve Base outside of Miami.
