TAMPA, Fla. -- For the first time since fracturing his left ankle last October, Derek Jeter will play in a game on Saturday.
Jeter will lead off as the Yankees’ DH and is expected to receive one or two at-bats.
On Thursday, Jeter went to Charlotte for his final checkup from the surgeon who performed the surgery on his ankle, Dr. Robert Anderson.
"It is 100 percent healed, and now we move forward," Jeter said Friday.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi has said he will ease Jeter into game action. First, he will have him DH and then eventually he will return to shortstop.
