Scott Boras has not heard anything from Robinson Cano about severing their agent-player relationship.
"I have not spoken to Robinson," Boras said.
Boras did not hear about the news until he woke up on Tuesday morning. It is customary for players to sign representation agreements prior to or during spring training. They run for 12 months and do allow a player to switch agents, but it doesn't void the current deal. A source told ESPN New York that Cano had signed his agreement with Boras.
