Will Hughes ever be more than a No. 4?

On Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners, Phil Hughes gave up seven runs on six hits, including a grand slam to Raul Ibanez. Hughes was chased after recording just two outs in the first inning.

He threw 36 pitches and none were especially good.

Hughes had been pitching well. Over his last five starts, he was 2-0 with a 3.21 ERA. On Wednesday, he had nothing.
