Chien-Ming Wang is gone

Chien-Ming Wang has used a clause in his deal to opt out of his contract with the Yankees.

Wang, 33, was 4-4 with a 2.33 ERA at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, but still sat behind Ivan Nova, Vidal Nuno and soon Michael Pineda on the Yankees' starting depth chart.

Wang is going to sign with the Blue Jays, and is expected to receive at least one start on the major league level.

Before injuring his foot running the bases in 2008, Wang was a two-time 19-game winner for the Yankees. With the Nationals in 2012, he went 2-6 with a 6.68 ERA.
