First Pitch: Happy Birthday, Captain

NEW YORK -- Next year is the big one for Derek Jeter -- the big 4-0.

On Wednesday, Jeter turns 39. So what do big-name teammates get "The Captain" on his big day?

"What can you give the guy who has everything?" Robinson Cano said. "I would say a card. He has a car, clothes, money and watches, what else can you give him?"

Mariano Rivera said Jeter should be the one giving, not receiving.

"Better get his butt here," Rivera said. "That would be his present."

Jeter is down in Tampa, Fla., taking some grounders and swinging a bat. Joe Girardi said Tuesday that Jeter's ankle is doing well, but there is still no word on when, after the All-Star break, No. 2 will play for the Yankees.

UP NOW: Yankees GM Brian Cashman told Alex Rodriguez to "Shut the f--- up." Wallace Matthews on A-Rod and Twitter, what could go wrong?

ON DECK: Wally will be out at the stadium with Kieran Darcy. They should find out what is next for Mark Teixeira and have all the follow-up on the A-Rod story.

IN THE HOLE: The pitching matchup: Andy Pettitte (5-5, 4.20 ERA) versus Justin Grimm (6-5, 5.57).

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What would you get Jeter for his birthday?
