NEW YORK -- Alfredo Aceves last pitched for the New York Yankees on May 8, 2010. Now he's back, called on to provide help for a tired bullpen after Friday night's marathon 10-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
The relievers weren't the only tired Yankees, with a day game on Saturday after a game that ended just before 1 a.m. The long game caused manager Joe Girardi to leave Derek Jeter out of the lineup for Saturday's game. Carlos Beltran also gets a day off.

Once he gets in a game, Aceves will be the 20th pitcher used by the Yankees this season. The Yankees and Chicago White Sox lead the major leagues with 19 pitchers used. The Yankees used just 24 pitchers all last season. The club record is 28.
