Game 107: Yanks (55-51) @ Rangers (42-65)

ARLINGTON, TX. -- Welcome to Derek Jeter's final game in Texas, where he has hit .333 for his career, and faces Colby Lewis, against whom he has hit .600 (3-for-5, with two home runs) against. No Brian McCann tonight; Girardi said he wanted to give him two full days off -- tomorrow is an off-day -- before the weekend series in Boston. No Brian Roberts or Ichiro either, both of whom the manager believes need a couple of days off, despite the fact Ichiro is 19-for-58 (.354) in his career against Lewis.

Here's the lineup for tonight's rubber game against the struggling Rangers:

Brett Gardner LF

Jeter SS

Jacoby Ellsbury CF

Mark Teixeira 1B

Carlos Beltran DH

Chase Headley 3B

Francisco Cervelli C

Zoilo Almonte RF

Brendan Ryan 2B

Hiroki Kuroda RHP

Notes: Jeter will be honored in a pregame ceremony at 7:40 p.m. I'm predicting he will get cowboy boots and a 10-gallon hat, and he will not put on the hat . . . Kuroda is 2-2 with a 2.08 ERA lifetime against the Rangers and 1-2 with a 2.84 ERA in Arlington. Lewis has never beaten the Yankees in four career starts. He is 0-3, 6.14 against them.
