Yankees option Nick Rumbelow, Ramon Flores

NEW YORK -- In order to make room on the 25-man roster for the returning Jacoby Ellsbury and Andrew Miller, the New York Yankees announced they had optioned right-handed reliever Nick Rumbelow and backup outfielder Ramon Flores to the Triple A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Rumbelow had appeared in four games, allowing one run and one hit in 3 1/3 innings. He had a 0-0 record and 2.70 ERA. Flores, who was in his second tour of duty this season, appeared in 12 games, batting .219 with no home runs or RBI.

Ellsbury, who missed 43 games with a right knee sprain, is in tonight's lineup as the leadoff hitter and center fielder, and Miller, who went on the DL on June 11 with a forearm strain, is available as the closer.
