"Betances was incredible," Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira said.

Betances continued to make a claim for an important role in the Yankees' bullpen by striking out two batters in a hitless seventh inning.
"Unfortunately, we lost," said Betances, 26. "It was pretty special because it was my first Opening Day. I have had a lot of ups and downs, but I felt good that I was able to do what I had to do. Every time they call my name, I'm trying to get the job done."
The last pitch that Betances fired was recorded at 99 mph. The more he throws like that the more faith Joe Girardi will show in him.
Tex looks good: Teixeira looked good at the plate. The notoriously slow-starting first baseman had two singles and looked pretty locked in at the plate. Teixeira missed nearly all of 2013 after wrist surgery.
