Yankees starter Mark Prior was scratched from a scheduled appearance Tuesday because of shoulder soreness, according to the Associated Press. Prior was going to to pitch in a Gulf Coast League game.
Prior is pitching in the GCL as he tries to rehab a strained groin, which he suffered while pitching for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre according to the article. The story said he has pitched six times for the GCL team in his rehab and it is unknown when he will be back on the mound. He has pitched a total of 12 innings for Yankees' minor league affiliates this season, going 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA.
The story also says that left-handed reliever Pedro Feliciano is scheduled to pitch Thursday for the GCL squad and fellow injured southpaw reliever Damaso Marte could also join him. Neither reliever has pitched for the Yankees this season and are not expected to help the Yankees this season.
