Fletcher's 'FINALLY' in the Pro Bowl

I'm sure it didn't cross Saints kicker Garrett Hartley's mind that when he split the uprights from 40 yards in overtime Sunday night, he effectively sent Skins linebacker London Fletcher to the Pro Bowl. Fletcher, who has described himself as the Susan Lucci of NFL players, will be added to the NFC roster because Saints middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma has to play in the Super Bowl.

"12 years and 1 Overtime later....FINALLY Pro Bowl bound," Fletcher wrote on Twitter. "Well worth the wait! God is great!!!"

Fletcher was also named a finalist for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year award Sunday. The other finalists are Browns wide receiver Mike Furrey and Chiefs offensive lineman Brian Waters.

"I'm extremely ecstatic," said Fletcher in a press release this morning. "It is a long time coming -- 12 years and one overtime later but it was worth the wait. I want to thank my teammates and coaches who helped me get this recognition. I want to also thank the fans and players who voted for me. It will mean a great deal to be out on the field with the best of the best in a different type of environment. I am excited to get to meet the families of the other players, get to visit and talk with the other guys around the league and have an opportunity to play with them in this game."
