Austin's not going anywhere, says Jerry

Appearing on ESPN 103.3's "Galloway & Company" on Tuesday from the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hit on a number of topics, including wide receiver Miles Austin and figure skating. We've preserved the audio of the 20-minute interview in case you're interested.

I asked Jones what role the uncapped 2010 season is playing in the negotiating process with Austin and whether he's confident the wide receiver will remain with the Cowboys.

"We're just not going to have Miles Austin any place but with the Dallas Cowboys," said Jones. "We need him."

But will the Cowboys have Austin signed to a long-term deal before the start of the 2010 season?

"He will be with the Dallas Cowboys,” Jones said. “When you talk long term and those kinds of areas, that gets into the interesting dynamic that we have."

Translation: I've been sitting at the negotiating table for the past 40 years, so I'm not about to tip my hand on what strategy we're using.

We'll have more from the Jones interview throughout the day.
