Who's not playing for the Giants?

ASHBURN, Va. -- I was looking over the list of Giants players who aren't going to play on Thursday night against Detroit when Redskins defensive end Andre Carter dropped by the media room to say hello. He said that Jason Taylor's presence will put him in a lot more one-on-one situations at right end and he's thrilled about the signing.

Here's that list of Giants who won't be active for tomorrow night: WR Plaxico Burress (foot), WR Steve Smith (groin), WR Mario Manningham (quad), WR David Tyree (PUP list because of knee), CB Sam Madison (sports hernia), OL Shane Olivea (back), LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) and S Craig Dahl (knee).

I really thought Gerris Wilkinson would replace Kawika Mitchell, but at this point that would be a surprise. Veteran Danny Clark has looked solid, and he's much better against the run than Wilkinson.

It's looking more and more like Wilkinson will be one of those great athletes who never can stay on the field. He's just never been able to stay healthy for an extended period of time.
