A Super prediction for Giants?

Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley

With Super Bowl XLIII in the books, it's time to look ahead. New York Daily News columnist Gary Myers, a daily reader of the Beast, predicts a Patriots-Giants rematch in Super Bowl XLIV.

"There's too much uncertainty and past history for the Giants to bring back [Plaxico] Burress," writes Myers. "[Jerry] Reese will find a new No. 1 receiver in the offseason, whether it's trading for Arizona's Anquan Boldin, trying to get Braylon Edwards out of Cleveland, moving way up in the draft to get Texas Tech's pass catching machine, Michael Crabtree, or sitting at No. 29 and hoping Rutgers' Kenny Britt falls to them."

Who knew it would be this easy for the Giants? Get rid of Plax and wait on Kenny Britt to fall to No. 29? I admire Myers' optimism, but I dont think it's going to be that easy to find a new No. 1 receiver. On defense, Osi Umenyiora will give the Giants' pass rush a much-needed boost. They're definitely a playoff team, but I'm not ready to predict a Super Bowl appearance at this point.
