ESPN's Chris Mortensen has mentioned the Rams, Dolphins and Panthers as potential trade partners for Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora. He dropped that nugget on ESPN Radio on Tuesday and then posted it on Twitter.
Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News cited two league sources saying the Giants weren't "actively shopping" Umenyiora. But as we all know, things can change in a hurry during the draft. As Vacchiano notes, Umenyiora would come at a very reasonable rate. I'm sure he would like a new deal if he's traded -- and a team such as the Panthers might be willing to make that happen.
You know Umenyiora's former defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, would love to have him in St. Louis. It's become a favorite destination for former Giants.
