Saturday Beastlines: Special Skins edition

The Washington Redskins are hosting a minicamp this weekend and coach Mike Shanahan was kind enough to invite reporters to practice Saturday. Here are some of the most compelling storylines:

"He's a quality guy," Shanahan said of McIntosh. "I've talked to Rocky on a number of occasions. I'm glad he decided to come to our minicamp. I expect him here all through our OTAs and getting ready for the season."

"It's early; not enough time to give you a great evaluation," said Shanahan. "But you don't have to look long to realize how talented of a player we have. He's extremely talented. We're just throwing him in the fire right now, throwing a lot at him, seeing what sticks. We're throwing a lot at him, so he's gradually slowing down because he's thinking and not reacting. ... We know he'll get worse before he gets better. It's a work in progress."

  • Jason Reid of the Post has been talking to folks close to Albert Haynesworth about the defensive tackle's approach to the offseason. Doesn't sound like much has changed.

  • In case you missed it, here's the column I wrote Thursday about London Fletcher attempting to play in a 3-4 scheme.
