New York Giants wide receiver Ramses Barden could miss significant time with a lower back injury, according to coach Tom Coughlin. Early in camp, general manager Jerry Reese told me that Barden was on the verge of a "breakout season."
"It might be a while," Coughlin said of Barden's recovery.
Barden was expected to push Mario Manningham as the team's third wide receiver. Now he'll be fortunate to be in the top four. Victor Cruz's huge night against the Jets has earned him more playing time. In fact, I think you could see him in the first quarter against the Steelers on Saturday.
We'll keep you posted on Barden's recovery.
