ESPN.com NFC West blogger Mike Sando has a popular MVP Watch that runs every Wednesday at noon ET, according to sources. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo began the year on this prestigious list, but he dropped out of sight following his team's 13-7 loss to the Washington Redskins.
That means the mighty NFC East doesn't have a single representative. And in a shocking move, Sando placed six members of the AFC South on the list. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub appears at No. 8 on the list, but he'll fade once he meets Alex Barron's worst nightmare, Brian Orakpo, on Sunday. And speaking of Orakpo, how is he not on this list after drawing two crucial holding penalties against the Cowboys in the fourth quarter and batting down a Romo pass?
Perhaps Sando will look beyond his magic database next week and realize that Orakpo's good enough to force offensive coordinators to call bubble screens the entire evening. Skins safety LaRon Landry also deserves mention for his 17 tackles against the Cowboys.
