Favre talks about facing adversity

Brett Favre hasn't responded directly to questions about the lewd photos he allegedly sent a New York Jets employee two years ago, but he did talk about facing adversity Wednesday. Asked how the allegations compared to some of the other issues he's faced during his long career, here's what he said:

"I don't rank them," Favre told reporters. "I'm thrilled to be here and have an opportunity to lead this team to the Super Bowl. ... There's still a lot of football left. I feel very confident in a lot of ways.

"You go through different things in your life. Football is a very tough sport, mentally and physically. Last year was great. Almost too great. But I woke up this morning and was very eager to get over here. More so than last year at this time, to get this back on track. I feel confident that [the team] will right itself in the end," he said.

Favre has left the door open for not playing Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys because of tendinitis in his right elbow, but I'd be shocked if he weren't out there. This tendinitis isn't a one-week injury, so he'll likely have to cope with it throughout the season. Here's the column I wrote for ESPNDallas.com this morning on Favre.
