The Eagles are off today, but receiver Jeremy Maclin showed up at training camp at Lehigh University for the first time since it began. Maclin missed the first five days of practice with an illness, and the Eagles haven't said any more about it than that -- including whether Maclin would practice Wednesday when the team got back to work.
Especially with DeSean Jackson continuing his holdout, any lingering issue with Maclin's health would be a concern for the Eagles, so this situation bears monitoring. Maclin apparently lost 15-20 pounds due to some kind of illness early in the offseason, but word late in the lockout was that he'd gained it all back. It's completely unclear whether this more recent issue had anything to do with that one. And frankly, the thing for which everyone should be hoping is that the young man is okay.
Assuming he is, Michael Vick will be thrilled to welcome one of his top two receiving targets back to the fold. But it's possible that Maclin could need some time to get all the way healthy before he can be a full participant in drills. We should know more Wednesday, when he could be available to speak to reporters out there at Lehigh.
