Will this week ever end for Eagles?

Longtime Philly journalist Phil Sheridan says this isn't the first strange second week of the season the Eagles have had. But he thinks this one might rank No. 1.

The Eagles have placed right tackle Shawn Andrews on injured reserve, added two Pro Bowl quarterbacks to the 53-man roster and made a revision to Brian Westbrook's contract. Oh, and Dr. Phil showed up in town to say that Michael Vick exhibits a "sociopathic adjustment to life."

This led to quarterback Jeff Garcia questioning Dr. Phil's credentials in the locker room. Even by Eagles standards, this has been a pretty bizarre week. But what does it all mean? For starters, I think Andrews has played his last down with the Eagles. Head coach Andy Reid certainly wouldn't confirm that Wednesday, but he doesn't have to.

Some teams can rally around distractions. Something tells me the Eagles will come out and handle the Saints. It would be a huge thing for the team's psyche early in the season -- and it could help Kevin Kolb's career no matter where he ends up.

OK, I have to break away to work on a column. Let's meet back here in a few hours.
