Eagles pick Josh Huff in 3rd

PHILADELPHIA -- The pick: Josh Huff, WR, Oregon

My take: The 5-foot-11 Huff becomes the first Oregon player drafted by Eagles coach Chip Kelly, who was ultra-successful with the Ducks. Huff had 62 catches for 1,140 yards and 12 touchdowns while displaying the versatility to perform on special teams, too. Huff is a little undersized, but he’s quite explosive. This is a strong pick.

Stepping in: Much like Jordan Matthews at No. 42, Huff at No. 86 will have a chance to play right away. It could be at wide receiver, special teams or both. That’s a great situation for a young player. If Huff can adapt to the speed of the NFL, he may just be competing immediately in the near future.

What’s next: The Eagles hold the first pick in the fourth round, No. 101. They also have two selections in the fifth round and one in the seventh round. It should be a busy final day for them.
