NFC North schedule materializing

We'll start to get our first glimpses of the NFL's 2010 schedule next week at the NFL owners' meeting. But the minds of creative people know no boundaries, and so already we're getting some smart ones reading between the lines and deducing some potential high-profile matchups.

  • Larry Mayer of ChicagoBears.com tweeted Wednesday that the Bears are likely to play at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.

  • That could be one of two NFC North turkey games. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com was the first to note that Detroit's opponent for its annual Thanksgiving Day has to be the New England Patriots.

  • And there has been widespread speculation that Minnesota will face New Orleans in the Sept. 9 regular-season opener.

If true, all three matchups should be finalized by next week. Stay tuned.
