Giants sit three starters

MINNEAPOLIS -- The New York Giants have deactivated tailback Brandon Jacobs and tight end Kevin Boss for Sunday's game against Minnesota, which has no bearing on the Giants' playoff seeding.

Derrick Ward will start for Jacobs and Michael Matthews will start at tight end.

The only other change to the starting lineup is that defensive tackle Jay Alford will start for nose tackle Barry Cofield, who is also inactive.

We'll get you the highlights of the Vikings' inactive list as soon as it comes.

Meanwhile, Minnesota receiver Bernard Berrian (ankle) is active and will start.
