Broncos insist Cutler isn't available

Earlier Tuesday, we wrote the Vikings would be foolish not to investigate the possibility of Denver making quarterback Jay Cutler available. But if the Broncos are giving NFL teams the same answer they gave the Denver Post and other media outlets Tuesday, it doesn't look like the Vikings would get very far.

After revealing that Cutler and coach Josh McDaniels will meet next week, a Broncos spokesman offered this statement to the Post: "The Denver Broncos are not trading Jay Cutler. Period."

For now, we'll take the Broncos at their word. But the original point stands: If Cutler becomes available, the Vikings owe it to themselves to pursue him with their full arsenal of assets.
