QB Shaun Hill still the Lions' starter

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will begin preparing in earnest Thursday for their Monday Night Football matchup at Soldier Field. We've already reviewed the Minnesota Vikings' eventful day, so let's move on to a couple of news items from the Detroit Lions before calling it a day (I think).

  • Ending the "suspense," coach Jim Schwartz confirmed that quarterback Shaun Hill will make his second consecutive start in place of Matthew Stafford (shoulder) Sunday at the Metrodome. Schwartz said Stafford is doing "great" in his rehabilitation, but Stafford has not yet begun throwing in practice.

  • The Lions held receiver Nate Burleson (ankle), guard Stephen Peterman (foot), safety Louis Delmas (biceps/groin/calf) and linebacker Zack Follett (concussion) from practice. Burleson isn't expected to play Sunday against the Vikings. Follett's concussion means he'll have to pass a battery of tests in order to play against the Vikings.
