Devin Hester on the mad scientist

CHICAGO -- Greetings from the lakefront. Morning clouds are blowing away, leaving us with what should be picture-perfect evening at Soldier Field. The Weather Channel is predicting a game-time temperature around 60 degrees with little wind to speak of.

No matter what the weather, you can expect Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz to be feeling pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good about his chances right around kickoff. Here's how Bears receiver Devin Hester described Martz's game-day demeanor during an interview with WQAM in Miami (courtesy sportsradiointerviews.com):

"He already has the game plan mastered out. ... During the game he just walks past you and say, 'Ain't this fun?' Just the look on his face, like he already has his opponent mastered out, that he already knows what he is going to do, [is] what makes it so fun working with him. The plays that we run, the routes that we run. He kind of creates routes and you think about them and think, 'God, that does look good.'"

Only about 5 1/2 hours until kickoff.
