Rodgers vs. the Jets' blitz-happy defense

Oh wait. There are four teams in the NFC North? LamboLeak will be so excited.

We typically get into game matchups during Friday's Final Word post, but I think at least one dynamic merits early discussion.

For reasons that haven't been fully explained, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't burned opposing blitzes this season the way he did in 2009, when he was the NFL's top-rated passer against five or more pass-rushers. As the ESPN Stats & Information chart shows, Rodgers' rating against the blitz has fallen to 87.7 -- ranking him No. 16 among NFL quarterbacks. He has thrown four interceptions and taken five sacks in 67 pass attempts against the blitz, and those numbers include a pretty decent performance against it last Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

So how will Rodgers and the Packers' offense handle it Sunday at the New Meadowlands Stadium? The New York Jets have blitzed an NFL-high 51.5 percent of the time this season. It will be a dynamic worth watching.
