EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- For those interested in the blow-by-blow of Week 8 Favre-aggedon: Yes, quarterback Brett Favre was on the Minnesota Vikings' practice field Friday afternoon. During the 10-minute portion open to reporters, Favre threw passes during individual drills but was limping obviously on his twice-fractured left ankle. He appeared to have a thick tape job applied for support. When team drills began, backup Tarvaris Jackson was with the first-team offense while Favre stood to the side.
Vikings coach Brad Childress told ESPN's Ed Werder that no decision on Favre's status would come before Saturday's practice. The Vikings are scheduled to play the New England Patriots at 4:15 p.m. ET on Sunday, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we don't have official word on their starter until a couple hours before kickoff. Stay tuned.
