Zygi Wilf: Not considering coaching change

CHICAGO -- Let's get to what you're all already asking: Will the Minnesota Vikings fire coach Brad Childress after a 27-13 loss to the Chicago Bears?

Here's what we can tell you: Vikings owner Zygi Wilf told ESPN's Ed Werder that he had no plans to fire Childress. The Vikings are 3-6, worse than all but seven NFL teams as of this posting, and Childress' job status has been rumored to be shaky for two weeks. But it's clear that Wilf isn't eager to part ways with the first and only coach he has hired since buying the team in 2005.

I suppose it's possible that Wilf will change his mind, or that he just isn't ready to speak publicly about it. But that's where we stand late Sunday afternoon.

More in a bit.
