Lions expecting progress on draft signings/Update

Since last Thursday, we've been stuck at 10 unsigned draft choices here in the Black and Blue. Detroit leads the way with six players who have yet to agree, but team president Tom Lewand told reporters Monday that he expects to have all under contract for the Lions' first practice Saturday afternoon.

Lewand: "We're getting closer on some other guys and I feel confident that we'll have everybody in camp on time. That's always, obviously, the goal and one that we've been pretty close to meeting every year."

Included in the unsigned group are two players expected to be immediate starters: Tight end Brandon Pettigrew and safety Louis Delmas. Rounding out the Lions' unsigned players: Linebacker DeAndre Levy, receiver Derrick Williams, defensive tackle Sammie Hill and offensive lineman Lydon Murtha.

UPDATE (6:45 ET): Levy agreed to terms Monday on a three-year contract. That leaves the Lions with five unsigned picks and the division with nine.

To keep things square, here are the remaining unsigned players around the division:

Green Bay Packers

Defensive lineman B.J. Raji (No. 1a)
Linebacker Clay Matthews (No. 1b)

Minnesota Vikings

Receiver Percy Harvin (No. 1)
Offensive lineman Phil Loadholt (No. 2)
