Combine'11: Day 1 from Scouts Inc.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Let's pull out a few notes from Scouts Inc.'s coverage of Day 1 of the NFL scouting combine:

  • USC offensive lineman Tyron Smith weighed in at 307 pounds, easing concerns about his college weight of 285. As silly as I think arm measurements are, Smith's were notable at 36 3/8ths inches.

  • Colorado offensive tackle Nate Solder measured as the tallest offensive lineman at the combine. He is officially 6-foot-8 1/4.

  • Scouts are swooning over the brother of Pittsburgh center Maurkice Pouncey. Florida guard/center Mike Pouncey measured in at 6-foot-5 and 303 pounds.

  • Nevada tight end Virgil Green has turned some heads after measuring 6-foot-3 3/8 and weighing in at 249 pounds. His 40 time could be interesting. Tight ends run on Saturday.
