We're now three weeks into the NFL's first post-lockout training camp, one that no longer includes traditional two-a-day practices and prevents more than five consecutive days of football activity. There is certainly some consternation among coaches about the limited preparation time, but veteran players have to be loving it.
Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher definitely is. In an appearance this week on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning," Urlacher said "I feel great right now" and has none of the "nicks and bruises" he might typically have by the third day of training camp.
In the interview, Urlacher also bemoaned the NFL's new kickoff rules and reiterated his support for the installation of an artificial playing surface at Soldier Field. It's all available through this podcast.
