Lions, Stafford await results on leg injury

I'm playing catchup here in the Metrodome press box, but we should note that Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a right leg injury on a late pass in a 23-16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

There's no sense speculating or panicking about the future of a quarterback who missed 19 games over his first two seasons because of injuries. Lions coach Jim Schwartz told reporters that the Lions would look at Stafford's ankle and knee.

Stafford said he didn't know how extensively he was injured. He wasn't using crutches or any receiving any other form of treatment after the game, according to the Detroit News. Obviously, stay tuned.
