A little O-line depth never hurt anybody

The Chicago Bears added depth, but probably not a new starter, when they acquired offensive lineman Dan Buenning from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday.

With left guard Terrence Metcalf still recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, Buenning will give the Bears depth at guard and center. Former backup Josh Beekman is expected to start at left guard in Sunday's season opener at Indianapolis.

Unfortunately, as Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports, Buenning doesn't play tackle. The Bears have been thin at that position since first-round draft pick Chris Williams had back surgery.
