BBAO: Bears' interest in Eric Steinbach

We're Black and Blue All Over:

Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith insisted last week that he was confident in the current configuration of his offensive line, and the team's approach to free agency continues to illustration his position.

While upgrading numerous other positions, the Bears have largely stood pat along the offensive line and kicked the tires only on veterans who don't necessarily project as starters. Former Minnesota Vikings guard Anthony Herrera visited early in free agency, and ESPNChicago.com colleague Jeff Dickerson reports the Bears have interest in former Cleveland Browns center Eric Steinbach.

Steinbach missed all of the 2011 season because of a back injury and just turned 32. It's possible he will continue rehabilitating his back before taking any visits and/or signing with a team.
