Bears running back Matt Forte dodged questions about his contract this weekend at his youth football in Slidell, LA. "I'm just excited about the season," he said. "I don't worry too much about what's going to happen in the future because I already know I'm taken care of."

The cousin of former Bears and Cowboys receiver Sam Hurd was arrested this weekend on drug charges. Hurd, arrested on similar charges in January, is out on bond, pending trial, which is scheduled for Aug. 6.

Detroit Lions

Detroit receiver Titus Young and safety Louis Delmas have apparently mended fences after a fight last month that got Young banned from the Lions facility. At a charity softball game Saturday, Delmas told reporters "Me and him are like best friends now at the end of the day."

Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril said Saturday his contract negotiations are in the hands of team president Tom Lewand. "It's up to Tom," Avril said. "It's up to Tom, and see where we can go with that."

Green Bay Packers
