I've seen the Detroit Lions play four times this season, but each instance has been on the road. So it's past due for me to make a trip to Motown.
That's where I'm headed this weekend. I'll be at Ford Field as the Lions host the Green Bay Packers. The Lions quite simply can't afford to lose this game, while a Packers victory could be part of a chain of events that leaves them in a virtual NFC North lead at the end of Week 11's play.
A victory would raise the Packers' record to 7-3. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears would also be 7-3 if they lose Monday night to the San Francisco 49ers. The season wouldn't end at that moment, but if it did, the Packers would technically win the NFC North because of their Week 2 victory against the Bears. (Of course, the Bears can neutralize that tiebreaker advantage if they beat the Packers at Soldier Field in Week 15.)
A massive crew of ESPNChicago.com staffers are headed to the Bay Area for Monday night's game and will provide full coverage. I'll of course monitor it as well and chime in when necessary.
