BBAO: Aaron Rodgers 'not stressing'

We're Black and Blue All Over:

Good morning. Over the weekend, you might have seen that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told the Green Bay Press-Gazette he is "not stressing" about upcoming contract negotiations and that he wants to play another eight years in Green Bay. I believe him on both counts.

Rodgers knows that his price tag is only going to go up the longer the Packers wait to address his deal, one that currently underpays him based on the current market but expires after the 2014 season. And there is no evidence that Rodgers is in any way miffed that the Packers haven't done so yet. He appears to understand the reality that the six-year contract he signed in 2008 by definition lowered the Packers' priority to give him a monster deal a few years later.

In the end, as Mike Vandermause of the Press-Gazette writes, it would make sense for the Packers to address this issue before training camp begins. We will find out in a few months if they agree.
