GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Greetings from the home of the (two-time) defending NFC North champions. I made it in smoothly this evening and already it appears we have some news on the Green Bay Packers' minicamp.
Defensive end Johnny Jolly told several Twitter followers that he will be at minicamp, which if true would be his first public appearance with the team since the NFL reinstated him from a three-year suspension earlier this spring. Jolly recently completed a drug rehabilitation program in Houston, which was thought to be his final obstacle to resuming practice with the Packers.
I couldn't begin to tell you if Jolly will practice, go through conditioning or a combination of both. He was last on a professional football field on January 10, 2010, a playoff loss at the Arizona Cardinals to close out the 2009 season. A lot has happened since then. But getting back to Green Bay, and eventually to practice, is another step in the process.
