BBAO: Big crowd at Wisconsin pro day

We're Black and Blue All Over:

The University of Wisconsin's pro day attracted prominent coaches and executives from at least three NFC North teams, and I don't think it was because of the short travel and the promise of an indoor workout. Defensive lineman J.J. Watt, offensive tackle Gabe Carimi and tight end Lance Kendricks were highlighted among the talented list of players on display.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the event was attended by Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy, Chicago Bears assistant coaches Mike Martz and Mike Tice and Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew, among others.

Carimi could figure into the first-round plans of either the Lions or Bears, depending on how other teams view his value. Regardless, I'll be curious to see if more coaches and general managers are on the road this week because they have no free-agent market to deal with.
