Lions' DeAndre Levy returns just in time

The Detroit Lions have already acted upon the injury concern we noted Monday morning. If everything else could only be so orderly....

Seriously, the Lions welcomed middle linebacker DeAndre Levy back to practice on the day they placed his injured backup, Jordon Dizon, on injured reserve. They also signed free agent Lee Campbell for depth and, I presume coincidentally, released defensive end Jason Hunter. As Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press notes, it was Hunter who fell into Dizon's leg Saturday night at Pittsburgh and caused the injury.

Levy returned not a moment too soon. A back injury sidelined him for more than two weeks and put him in catch-up mode as he transitions to his new role as a full-time middle linebacker. He's behind but luckily has enough time to catch up.
