NFL sides with Vikings in Metrodome dispute

Just to update our weekend discussion, it continues to seem highly unlikely that Minnesota and Green Bay will swap home games this season to accommodate a potential Oct. 5 baseball playoff game at the Metrodome

Monday morning, an NFL spokesman told the Associated Press that no swap is planned. I guess that leaves open the possibility for something unexpected, but the people that I talked with over the weekend were adamant that the Vikings have priority over the building and that Major League Baseball and the Twins will have to find an alternative date.

The Vikings have accepted cash reimbursement in exchange for accommodating the Twins as recently as 2006, but that was to move the day -- but not the site -- of the game. This situation is different and almost certainly too complicated to be pulled off.
